A Dark and Stormy Knight by Kerrigan Byrne
We’ve been waiting thru 6 books for Chief Inspector Sir Carlton Morley to find love. But love found him. Tripped over him, actually. And he hasn’t the foggiest idea what to do about it.

In this book, we learn Morley’s dark past, and how it has shaped him into the man he is now. The pain, heartbreak, and loss. And his need for justice. It’s during that quest for justice that he meets Prudence. And she chooses him.
Their path to love isn’t calm, or easy. Morley doesn’t know what to do with Prudence other than keep her safe. But she wants him, not safety, and has to convince him to take a chance.
This book was all it needed to be. Morley is finally able to release his demons and relish the memories they hid. The brotherhood between Morley, Blackwell (book 1), Argent (book 2), and Ash (book 6) is one of my favorite parts. They didn’t start out all liking each other, and some days it’s still iffy. But they will ALWAYS have each other’s backs without being asked. And the sisterhood of their women is just as amazing. They welcomed Pru in just like she had always been a part of them, as they have done with each new addition along the way. Found family is just as strong, or stronger in many cases, as blood family.
This book is a 5 star book. I cannot wait for more of this series.

Blurb:
All pretense of the civilized Chief Inspector melted away beneath the heat exploding between them. His hands were suddenly everywhere. His lips were no longer compressed into their tight, laconic lines. They molded to hers with a wild, wet consummation that surpassed anything she’d ever imagined.
He’d once again succumbed to the starving, carnal beast that lurked inside him. One locked away in a cavern so deep it was as if he attempted to bury it forever.
But anyone knew that a predator denied sustenance became the most dangerous of creatures. Prudence realized that she somehow possessed the key to the dungeon where he kept that beast.
And she’d hoped that once she’d let it lose, it would devour her.
True to his nature, he didn’t let her down.
